Finding the right artificial grass adhesive makes the difference between a flawless, long-lasting installation and one that lifts, separates, or fails at the seams. Our Turfstikk adhesive range is specifically engineered for synthetic turf — not repurposed from general construction — giving you a reliable, weatherproof bond on concrete, timber, tarmac, and compacted stone substrates.
Turfstikk adhesives have been developed with over 90 years of combined adhesive expertise, formulated to perform in the UK’s wet and cold conditions. Each product in the range works as a complete system alongside our Turfstikk ST500 seam tape, ensuring clean, invisible joins that hold permanently under foot traffic, UV exposure, and seasonal temperature change.
To install, prepare your surface so it is clean, dry, and free from dust or grease. Position your Turfstikk ST500 seam tape centrally beneath the join, then apply adhesive evenly using a notched spreader. Press both edges of turf firmly into the adhesive, working from the centre outward. Avoid trafficking the area for 24 hours and allow a full 48-hour cure before heavy use.
What is the best adhesive for artificial grass on concrete? A polyurethane or MS polymer adhesive is recommended for concrete — it tolerates surface moisture and creates a flexible, permanent bond. Turfstikk is formulated specifically for this substrate.
How much artificial grass adhesive do I need? As a general guide, allow approximately 1kg per linear metre of seam for a standard 4m wide roll. Coverage varies depending on surface porosity.
Can artificial grass adhesive be applied in cold or wet weather? Yes — Turfstikk adhesives perform down to 5°C and in damp conditions, making them suitable for year-round installation across the UK.
What is the difference between adhesive and joining tape? Seam tape is positioned beneath the join as a backing; adhesive is applied on top to permanently bond the two turf edges together. They are designed to be used as a system — tape alone will not give a lasting bond.
