Woodstikk® 15 Flooring Adhesive

Woodstikk® 15 is a professional wood flooring adhesive for bonding wood flooring and multilayer parquet. It is a one-component, silane-modified elastic adhesive made with silanic resin in a solventless, consistent, spreadable paste. Designed for professional flooring installations, Woodstikk® 15 gives strong elastic bonding, very low VOC emission and an odour-free working experience. It is free from solvents, isocyanates and amines and is suggested for use over underfloor heating systems where the flooring and subfloor are suitable.

Preparation and application

Before installation, check that the room is equipped with doors, windows or other suitable closings. Only install when walls and ceilings are completely dry. The moisture content of the wood flooring and subfloor must meet the requirements of the flooring manufacturer and relevant installation guidance. If the surface is not dry, or if moisture content is higher than expected, use appropriate waterproof primers. Where there is a risk of rising damp, install a vapour barrier before bonding.

Subfloor preparation

The subfloor must be suitable for parquet installation. Cementitious screeds must be cured, dry, flat and mechanically strong. Surfaces must be free from dust, loose particles, residual oils and paints. Screed moisture should be measured with a hygrometer before installation. Rough or uneven surfaces should be corrected with a high mechanical smoothing or levelling compound and allowed to dry before bonding. Existing ceramic, marble and similar floors must be degreased and thoroughly cleaned before applying Woodstikk® 15.

Spreading the adhesive

Open the foil pouch contained in the plastic bucket and spread the adhesive onto the substrate using a notched trowel for wood flooring. Apply only the amount of adhesive that can be covered with parquet within approximately 35 minutes under normal conditions of +20°C and 50% RH. If part of the pack has already been used, open the foil pouch, remove any skin that may have formed and continue application. The skin layer helps preserve the remaining product.

Laying wood flooring

Store flooring in a dry place protected from weather and condensation, inside the original manufacturer packaging and isolated from the ground. During laying, apply pressure to ensure good wetting between the adhesive and the wood flooring. Leave a joint of approximately 1cm around the perimeter of the floor, pillars and protruding parts. Avoid adhesive squeezing into the joints of strips, as this may contaminate the flooring surface.

Cleaning

Woodstikk® 15 can be removed while still wet. Once cured, removal must be carried out mechanically.

Health and safety

According to the TDS, Woodstikk® 15 is not dangerous under current regulations on the classification of preparations. It is recommended to wear gloves and goggles and use normal precautions for handling chemicals. Safety Data Sheet available for professional users on request.
