Wakol Intercoll D 3481 is a 2-component, water-based hybrid spray adhesive designed for upholstery and foam bonding in mattress and furniture production. It can be used for one-side bonding or as a contact adhesive where high initial tack is needed.
It’s a 2-component spray adhesive system used in mattress production, upholstered furniture, office chairs, and foam conversion. It’s designed to bond common absorbent and non-absorbent materials used in these builds, like foams, textiles, felt, plastics, and wood.
It’s a spray-applied 2-component adhesive that can be used either as one-side bonding or as a contact bonding process, depending on how you’re assembling the parts. This makes it useful for production workflows where you need fast handling and consistent bonding.
It’s suitable for bonding absorbent and non-absorbent substrates such as polyurethane foams, latex foam, textiles, felt, suitable plastics, and wood. If you’re unsure about a specific plastic or surface finish, a small test bond is the safest way to confirm adhesion in your conditions.
Yes. Intercoll D 3481 is used as a sprayable 2-component system in combination with Wakol Intercoll D 3437 2K Activator, so you’ll want both products on hand for the intended process.
Yes—one-side bonding is supported. For one-side bonding, assembly should happen directly after application, with enough adhesive and firm pressing so transfer to the second part can occur.
For contact bonding, the open time is approximately 20 minutes, depending on adhesive amount, temperature, and humidity. In practice, warmer or drier conditions can shorten the workable window, so it helps to keep your process consistent.
No—airing time is listed as none, which helps keep production moving without waiting for a flash-off step. You still want clean, dust-free surfaces so the bond isn’t compromised.
Processing temperature should be more than +15 °C. If the workspace or materials are colder than that, adhesion and handling strength can become unreliable.
It can be applied using air-mix spray guns or suitable low-pressure airless guns. Typical guidance includes air-assisted spray pressure around 1.5–2.5 bar and airless product pressure around 4–6 bar as a starting point for setup.
Clean with water while the adhesive is still fresh. Once it has dried, cleaning is done with INTERCOLL L 1815 Löser 31, and it’s best to avoid cleaners that contain silicones or oils because they can interfere with adhesion.
No—“super glue” usually refers to cyanoacrylate adhesives meant for small, rigid bonds and quick fixes. D 3481 is a spray-applied 2-component system built for upholstery and foam assemblies where you want controlled application and production-friendly bonding.
Epoxy glue is typically a mixed-and-cured structural adhesive chosen for rigid, high-strength joints, and it’s usually applied very differently. D 3481 is designed for spray application and for foam/upholstery builds where an elastic, ageing-resistant adhesive joint is useful.
Wood glue is generally intended for porous wood-to-wood joins and often isn’t the best fit for mixed materials like foams, textiles, and plastics. D 3481 is made to bond a broader set of upholstery materials (including wood as part of an assembly), using spray application and one-side/contact bonding workflows.
It can be used in upholstery builds where textiles are part of the bonded assembly, but it’s not the same as a small-tube craft fabric glue. This is a professional 2-component spray system intended for production bonding of upholstery materials (like textiles to foam) with fast handling needs.
