Titebond II Extend Wood Glue

Titebond II Extend Wood Glue is a water-resistant PVA adhesive developed for woodworkers and manufacturers who need more time to assemble and align complex projects. It combines ANSI/HPVA Type II water resistance with a slower speed of set, providing a 15-minute open assembly time at approximately 21°C and 50% relative humidity.

Use Titebond II Extend for larger panel assemblies, frames, doors, complex joinery, furniture components and exterior woodworking projects where a standard fast-setting wood glue would not provide enough positioning time.

Application guidance

Stir before use and apply when the adhesive, timber and working environment are above 16°C. Spread an even coat onto one bonding surface using a brush, roller or dispensing bottle. At approximately 21°C and 50% relative humidity, the open assembly time is 15 minutes and the total assembly time is 20–25 minutes. Apply sufficient clamping pressure to bring the joint tightly together.

Cleaning and limitations

Remove wet adhesive using a damp cloth. Dried excess should be scraped or sanded away. Titebond II Extend is water-resistant but is not suitable for continuous immersion, use below the waterline, or structural and load-bearing applications. Its low pH may corrode some metals, so test where rust or corrosion could be a concern. Keep from freezing and test adhesion before use on treated, exotic or oily timbers.
