Overview

DCM-Free Spray Contact Adhesive for Joinery and Laminate Bonding

Aro-Bond 629 is a professional DCM-free spray contact adhesive developed for joinery, laminate bonding and related production environments. It delivers a clear, controllable web spray pattern for fast two-sided bonding across a wide range of compatible substrates. Based on non-chlorinated technology, Aro-Bond 629 gives manufacturers, contractors and fit-out teams a practical alternative to traditional contact adhesives, while retaining the speed, grab and coverage expected from a professional canister spray system.

Where to use Aro-Bond 629

Aro-Bond 629 is designed for standard laminate bonding, joinery panels, furniture production, shopfitting, display work, interior fit-out and general contact bonding where a fast, controlled spray adhesive is required. As with any professional adhesive, always test the adhesive on the actual substrates before full production, especially when bonding coated, painted, plasticised or sensitive materials.

Key benefits

  • DCM-free formulation for modern spray contact bonding.
  • Non-chlorinated adhesive system with a clear bond line.
  • Controllable web spray for clean, even adhesive coverage.
  • Fast flash-off of around 2-3 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity.
  • Open time up to 45 minutes, giving installers practical working time.
  • High temperature resistance for demanding joinery and fit-out applications.
  • Two-sided contact bonding for reliable grab and final strength.

Technical performance

  • Technology: DCM-free spray contact adhesive
  • Formulation: Non-chlorinated
  • Spray pattern: Web spray
  • Colour: Clear
  • Application: Two-sided contact adhesive
  • Flash-off: Approximately 2-3 minutes
  • Open time: Up to 45 minutes
  • Total solids: 28%
  • Coverage: 22ltr canister up to 65m²; 110ltr canister up to 330m², subject to application conditions
  • Shelf life: 18 months from date of manufacture when stored correctly

How to apply

  1. Make sure both surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease, wax, loose paint and contamination.
  2. Use the adhesive and substrates between 16°C and 27°C where possible.
  3. Attach the hose and spray gun securely to the canister, then open the canister valve slowly and fully.
  4. Spray 10-20cm from the surface at a 90° angle, applying an even coat to achieve good surface coverage.
  5. Spray both surfaces to be bonded. For best control, spray one surface vertically and the other horizontally.
  6. Allow the adhesive to flash off for around 2-3 minutes, until it becomes tacky and no adhesive transfers when touched.
  7. Bring the surfaces together and apply firm, even pressure. A roller is recommended to achieve maximum bond strength.
  8. Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to fully cure before subjecting the bond to heavy service conditions.

Storage and handling

Use only with adequate ventilation and consult the Safety Data Sheet before use. Store canisters away from direct sunlight, do not store above 50°C and keep above 10°C for reliable performance. When a hose and gun are connected, keep the system pressurised and follow correct changeover procedures to avoid adhesive curing in the line. For technical advice on suitability, coverage or application equipment, contact the Ureka team before starting production.

Preparation

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from dirt, dust, oil, grease, wax, loose paint and any other contamination. Use with adequate ventilation. For best results, keep the adhesive and substrates between 16°C and 27°C during application.

Before production use, spray a small test area to confirm compatibility with the materials being bonded.

Application method

Attach the hose and spray gun securely to the canister and open the canister valve slowly and fully. Spray approximately 10-20cm from the surface at a 90° angle, applying an even coat to achieve good coverage. Spray both surfaces to be bonded, ideally one vertically and the other horizontally.

Allow 2-3 minutes for the adhesive to tack off, then bond the surfaces and apply firm, even pressure. A roller is recommended for maximum strength. Allow 24 hours for full cure.

Canister storage and changeover

Consult the Safety Data Sheet before use. Do not store canisters above 50°C or in direct sunlight. For optimum performance, store at around 18°C during use and always above 10°C. When connected, keep the valve open and the hose pressurised until you are ready to change the canister.

When changing over, spray out remaining adhesive, disconnect correctly and flush the hose and gun with a suitable cleaning solvent canister until clear.

  • Aro-Bond 629 is a professional DCM-free spray contact adhesive for joinery, laminate bonding, panel bonding and related fit-out applications. It is designed for two-sided application using a canister spray system.
