If you’re aiming for a high-quality join with straight edges and no visible gaps, this 3-step method is the most reliable approach.
Step 1: Create the first perfectly straight cut
The first step is the most important. Use the SMG Speed Knife Edge Trimmer to create a clean, straight edge quickly and consistently.
- It can cut from the top or bottom, but it’s recommended to fold the grass over first.
- Line up the nose of the tool and use the grass seam as your guide.
- The forward cutting motion and triangular shape helps maintain precision even at speed.
Step 2: Match the adjacent roll with an equally straight cut
Now make sure the edge on the adjacent roll is just as straight — this is where the SMG Length Knife shines for a perfect join in artificial grass.
- Overlap the second roll on top of the pre-cut roll.
